About Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa, a famous personality of the India, well known as “The Blessed Teresa of Calcutta” was born on 26th of August in 1910 in Üsküp, Kosovo Vilayet, Ottoman Empire to the Nikollë Bojaxhiu and Dranafile Bojaxhiu (Bernai) and died on 5th of September in 1997 in Calcutta, West Bengal, India. She was a great lady of “Albanian-born Indian Roman Catholic Religious Sister”.
She was committed towards the religious life from the age of 12 and finally started serving for people from 15th of August in 1928. She had joined the Sisters of Loreto as a missionary after leaving her home at the age of 18 and never went back to her mother or sister.
She, birth name “Agnes”, first went to the Loreto Abbey, Rathfarnham, Ireland to learn the language of Sisters of Loreto. She put her feet in India in the year 1929 and started working in Darjeeling (near Himalayan Mountains). She became a nun by reading vows on 24th of May in 1931 where she was started calling as Teresa (the Spanish spelling of Agnes).

Mother Teresa was really a God gifted mother for everyone who had founded the Missionaries of Charity which involves supporting the poor people suffering from the HIV, AIDS, tuberculosis, leprosy or other diseases. She was interested and inclined towards the social activities from her early childhood. She has been awarded with various honored awards including the Nobel Peace Prize in the year 1979.
