About Padmavathy Bandopadhyay
Padmavathy Bandopadhyay, was born on 4th of November in the year 1944 in Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh, became the first Indian woman Air Marshal of the Air Force. She is also the 2nd woman of Indian armed forces who has been honored with three-star rank. Her Husband, S.N. Bandopadhyay, is a retired Wing Commander. She has two children (one is an engineer in US and second one is a doctor at Vidyasagar Institute of Mental Health And Neuro Sciences, Delhi). She got her education from the Armed Forces Medical College, Kirori Mal College and Staff College in Wellington.

She has joined the Indian Air Force in the year 1968 where she honored with the Vishisht Seva Medal for her big contribution into Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. She became the first Indian woman Air Marshal of the Air Force.
