Vijaya Lakshmi Nehru Pandit, a diplomat and the politician in India, was the sister of the former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and aunt of the Indira Gandhi (also the Prime Minister of India). She was the wife of a successful barrister from Kathiawad, Ranjit Sitaram Pandit. She was the first woman of India to be selected for the cabinet post.
