Asha Parekh was born on 2nd of October in 1942 in Mumbai in a Gujarati family and became a successful Bollywood actress, director and then producer. She is counted among one of the top stars of the Hindi films of decade 1959 to 1973 for which she has been honoured with Padma Shri by the Indian Government. She learned Indian classical dance at her early age because of her mother efforts.
